Honey and vanilla pound cake

This is a classic pound cake which tastes better with a cup of hot tea. It’s nice butter taste, is moist and aromatic. It is very easy to make. You need a food processor, 10 min and it’s ready – put a cake pan in an oven and after an hour you can enjoy this delicious cake!

What is more interesting, baked on Friday’s afternoon, the best was on Sunday!


Ingredients
8 oz (225 g) room temp. butter
1 ¼ cups sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon lemon zest
2 tbsp honey
2 cups wheat flour
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla essence


Method
Beat butter with sugar until fluffy. Add one egg at the time, keep stirring, add honey, vanilla and lemon zest. In another bowl sieve flour with baking powder and salt. Combine with butter mixture. Spoon the batter into lined baking pan. Bake for about 50-60 min. (I baked mine for 90 min.) at 360F/ 180 oC.
