Cottage cheese apple pie

The Autumn is an ideal season to bake an apple pie. To fill the full house with the flavour of apples and cinnamon, apple pie for a dessert, when it’s grey outside….

This version of the pie is also great because of the cottage cheese. This combination beats me into a cocked hat. Can you imagine something better?! The pie taste like cheesecake, has a nice milky note but apples and cinnamon crust dominate in it.

Ingredients
1 ¼ cup sugar
½ cup oil
7 oz (200 g) minced cottage cheese
2 eggs
1 ½ cups wheat flour
¼ teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons cinnamon
3 apples
1 ½ teaspoon baking powder

Method
Mix 1 cup sugar with oil and cottage cheese. Beat in one egg at the time. Add all the dry ingredients. When well combined add peeled and diced apples. Spoon the batter into the greased cake pan. Sprinkle the top with sugar (1/4 cup sugar – I used brown one) and cinnamon. Bake for about 1 hour and 15 min. at 350 F (175 oC).
