There are some days (especially often when you’re pregnant..) when you have to visit ‘those’ restaurants. I must admit I’m not proud of that fact, but I sometimes dream starting early in the morning about slightly sweet bun with beef burger inside.
But what for we have blogs and recipes posted there?! You just need a little bit of good will, checked recipe and healthier and better version than fast food one of the hamburger is on your table!
Ingredients (make about 10 big buns)
18 oz (500 g) wheat flour
10 fl oz (300 ml) milk
0,5 oz(10 g) fresh yeast
2 oz (50 g) soft butter
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp honey
1 teaspoon salt
to brush the buns: milk, sesame seeds to sprinkle with
Plus: beef burgers (made on a grill pan), lettuce, onion, tomatoes and all your favourite additions
Method
Mix slightly warm milk with yeast, sugar and honey, put aside for 15 min. Sift the flour into the bowl, add salt, pour in milk with yeast, add butter, knead until elastic. Knead using your hands for about 30 min., when using the food processor knead for about 10-12 min. Cover the bowl with the foil, put aside for about 1,5-2 hours until doubled size. During this time punch down the dough twice. Divide the dough in 3 oz (90 g) balls. Form round buns, place the buns on a baking tray, cover with foil and leave to rise for a 60 min.
Before baking brush buns with milk and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for 15-20 min at 360 F /180 oC.
