Young cabbage “bigosik”

Since it happened that my dad went in the morning to the market, now I have a bunch of dill, young cabbage, beetroots and rhubarb bun :)

I hadn’t got a particular idea what to do for a dinner, so such a set of vegetables was like set from the skies! Cabbage with dill – this is it, and beetroots have to wait until tomorrow.

Ingredients
1 small young cabbage
about 6 slices of ham ( prosciutto)
1 onion
bunch of dill
salt, sugar
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp cold butter
Pepper
2 bay leaves
3 pimento
1 teaspoon corn starch

Method
Wash cabbage and chop it. Place in a big pot, add ½ cup water, add pimento and bay leaves. Covered, simmer on low heat. In a heated pan fry chopped onion and ham – add it to the cabbage. Cook until cabbage gets soft, season with sugar, salt and pepper. If you want it to be thicker, mix water with flour and pour it in. When the heat is switched off, add butter and chopped dill. Serve with young potatoes.
