Vanilla Cookies with chocolate chips

When I bake cookies, usually I choose those you don’t have to roll out. Only mix ingredients, form a cookie with your fingers or with a spoon and bake. These small ones were really delicious, soft and with a vanilla flavour*, broke with a taste of dark chocolate.

During the weekend I baked them I kept the dough on my balcony instead of in a freezer – it was so cold!

* invest in a good vanilla essence, its taste make a difference!

The recipe (modified) from Martha Stewart!

Ingredients (make about 25 cookies)
1 ¼ cups wheat flour
½ cup sugar
1 egg
3 tbsp sour cream
¾ cup chocolate chips
100 g (3 ½ oz) butter
1/3 teaspoon sal
¼ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon vanilla essence

Method
Beat butter with sugar and salt until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla essence. Add baking soda alternating with sour cream. Gently stir in chocolate chips. Put the dough in a freezer for about 10 min. From the dough form cookies the spoon size. Place them on a baking tray slightly flatten. Bake at 180 oC (360 F) until golden. Sprinkle with powder sugar.
